How we decide
We look at when past models came out and what’s known about the next one. For stock and delivery dates, check the seller.
What each recommendation means
Buy if you need it. We found little reason to wait.
Check the reason before deciding. A new model may be due, or we may need better information.
Hold off if you can. A replacement has been announced, or credible reports point to one within three months.
Where the dates come from
We use manufacturer announcements and official records. The gaps show the time between the main models, rounded to the nearest month. We skip revisions such as Switch OLED. Open Sources & notes to see what we checked.
How estimates work
Regular updates can give a rough idea of when another model might come. A date is confirmed when the maker announces it.
When the advice needs updating
After 45 days, advice changes to CONSIDER until we check the sources again. The product page shows the last review date.
