Meta Quest 3 / Quest 3S

CONSIDER

An update may be due.

Buy if you need it now. Past launches suggest an update may be due, but the timing is uncertain.

Meta’s announced VR Glasses are a separate device; no Quest 4 date was confirmed in this review.

Behind the advice

Models covered

Quest 3S is a lower-cost member of the Quest 3 generation, not Quest 4. The generation interval uses the original Quest 2 and Quest 3 announcements. Quest Pro and Meta VR Glasses are separate devices.

When is the next model expected?

Meta’s November update identifies Quest 3 and 3S as the baseline for its VR gamers and points to separate VR Glasses next spring. That does not confirm a Quest 4 announcement or replacement window.

What we checked

Meta’s Quest 2, 3, and 3S announcements, its November developer update, its device comparison, and targeted Quest 4 timing searches.

What would change this advice?

We reassess when the maker announces a replacement, credible reporting clarifies its timing, or this source review expires.
